Flash Caddis |
|
| hook | any scud hook |
| hook size(s) | 12-16 |
| thread | olive 8/0 |
| head | caddis or emerald green glass bead |
| abdomen | caddis green or light olive rabbit |
| rib | fine copper wire |
| body-under | pearl, silver, or gold sparkle flash |
| body-over | olive antron, very loose |
| thorax | peacock herl |
notes: The Sparkle flash should extend the length of the abdomen. Use about 4 strands, 2 on each side. The antron is a little tricky. Use the course, loose dubbing, not the yarn. Tie it in like you would Z-lon, on both the top and the bottom, over the abdomen. Pull it together at the back of the fly so it covers the whole abdomen. This will act like a short tail. The antron overbody will flash and pulsate in the water. This fly also works well in dark olive and light brown. |
